Hello and welcome to my site! You’ll find an eclectic mix of refinished and handcrafted goods (and a few vintage pieces as I find them) that reflect my favorite things. I come from a long line of artists, from my great-great-grandmother and aunts who created the most beautiful and intricate quilts to my woodworker/photographer father and pastel painter mother. I suppose that its no accident that I’m drawn to both natural wood and painted furniture, textiles, and fiber art. It’s in my blood!
My design approach is to restore, reclaim, and renew. I find tired, outdated, and unloved furniture and give them a new lease on life. I only choose pieces that are of quality construction and ‘speak’ to me, and either restore them with natural products such as oils, waxes, and shellac or renew them with a modern design sensibility and paint.
I’m also drawn to wood with natural patina such as live edge slabs, driftwood, and reclaimed planks. I love textiles that are muted in tone but have lots of texture such as wools, denims, and linens. Although I draw inspiration from many places, my style reflects our home in the Pacific Northwest from the dense and shaded forests, the bright verdant colors of the valleys and rivers, to the moody greys and blues of the ocean and rocky coastline.
